ABORTION
A 22 G1 presents to the emergency room with LMP 9 weeks ago with vaginal bleeding and severe lower quadrant cramping. The patient was seen one week ago in OB clinic and at that time was noted to have an intrauterine pregnancy consistent with 7-week gestation with +fetal cardiac activity. The exam in the emergency room reveals an open cervical os with active bleeding. Ultrasound reveals +IUP with no fetal cardiac activity. Please discuss the findings of the case and the management plan.
